Wow, what fun we had!! And we did it all in 45 minutes!
This senior session was done at the Family Camp that E. and I both go to every year. E had texted me and asked if I could bring my camera along and take her senior pics. "Yep!"
It started out when I went to E's bus where she was getting ready.
"Hey, could you grab Johannah and ask her if I can have her black dress for the shoot?"
"Sure!"
Johannah had been right outside the bus last I knew, but she wasn't there anymore. I checked the gym. At first glance she wasn't there, but I saw her going through the doorway at the far side. I chased her all the way to the dining hall where I saw her slip around another corner. But whew, I finally found her! That was fun! Okay, black dress. Check.
Then I realized I hadn't decided who would come + hold the reflector for me yet. Well, mom had actually been trying all afternoon to wiggle her way into coming to the session. XD So I had a candidate. Mom was half-way in-between a bite of pineapple when I found her.
"Hey, would you actually like to come and hold the reflector for the shoot?"
"Uh... yeah!!" she replied.
When we got back to the bus, E was ready. I always pray before all of my shoots, and mama + E joined me. Then, before we knew it, we were snapping away. I had scouted out the best places for photos, lighting-wise, the day before, so we just went there, I directed her into the first couple poses, and from there on it was shoot, laugh, shoot, etc! We had so much fun! At one point, I even sang one of their family's songs to her when my camera wasn't being obedient. XD At another point, she played a classical piece for me in the woods while I snuck around and took pictures from different angles. Wow. That was beautiful. It's not everyday that you get to hear a classical piece played by a girl with a violin in the woods! XD
I am very thankful to my posing course for the amount of great photos we were able to get in 45 minutes with an outfit change. I would not have been able to do that pre-course!! Thank you, Amy & Jordan!!
E is so full of love for other people. Scroll to the end to see the blurb I wrote for this post on Instagram! And enjoy all the lovely, dreamy photos! :)

Yep, just stumbled upon a girl in the woods playing a violin...

You know the thing I love about this photo? 1) It's gorgeous. 2) It's UNEDITED! Yep, I did not edit this photo. Anything I tried only took away from the natural beauty of it, so I just left it like it was! That means less time spent behind the computer! :D :D

Thank you for joining in! Prayers as you continue your journey, Liz!

P.S. Now for the blurb... :)
CONGRATULATIONS Elizabeth // Class of 2021
Elizabeth is one of those treasures that you want to keep around forever. She’s one of those blessed people that can listen well and enjoys talking about meaningful things, but will also randomly suggest that we should totally stop and get ice cream on the way home and keeps everyone laughing about something or other the entire time. If you’re one of those people who likes to keep your eyes on the mountains beyond, she’ll challenge you to stop and smell the roses in your path right NOW, just by setting the example. One of the things that I appreciate about her the most is her balance of confidence and humility. She’s not “needy” and she cares for everyone in her path, treating them each like God put them there on purpose. She is an extremely talented musician (can I say that again?!!) and gifted in so many ways, yet she never puts on airs about any of her talents, gifts, or opportunities. I think the way that she stays down-to-earth is by loving people in practical ways… one moment she’ll be singing and playing on stage, and the next she’ll be pushing three strollers while holding two babies at once in the back. 😄(I’m exaggerating of course, haha, but it seems like it sometimes! 😁) But this all doesn’t come out of a “let’s see how I can impress everyone through my selflessness” attitude - no, rather I believe it comes from the times when I’ve seen her sitting somewhere with her Bible and investing meaningfully in her relationship with the Creator and lover of her soul. She has a genuine relationship with Him that is evident by the way she pours out love to those around her. (1 John 4:20)
Oh! And she’s an amazing cook. Puts those professional cooking bloggers to shame. 😂😁 (Okay, I know that’s NOT the goal. But still! 😁)
It was an honor + privilege to take your senior pics, Liz, but it’s an even greater honor to have you as my friend! Keep following where God leads moment by moment! Can’t wait to see where that goes!
Love, Kina
